Achievable tolerance depends on feature size, material and measurement temperature. Those conditions are being confirmed for the figure above.
Design guidance
Length to diameter ratio
A long slender part deflects away from the tool and chatters. A length-to-diameter ratio above roughly eight to ten requires review of workpiece support. Support features or a split construction are considered during design.
Undercuts
Internal undercuts and deep recesses require grooving-tool access and an additional machining operation. Specify undercuts where required for circlips, seals or other functional features.
Thread specifications
Specify the thread by its standard designation and class of fit rather than by drawn geometry. That removes an interpretation step, and it lets us cut with a standard tool instead of single-point threading, which is faster and holds the same fit from part to part.
