Design guidance
Electrical specification
The geometry alone does not describe a busbar. Current rating, temperature rise, insulation requirements and the governing standard all change the material, the cross section and the finish. These requirements form part of the quotation specification.
Joint arrangement
The bolted, clamped or welded joint arrangement determines the contact-face finish and flatness requirements. Identify the joint faces on the drawing.
Enclosure constraints
Busbar routing must satisfy the enclosure's space, clearance and creepage requirements. Where the enclosure constrains routing, the surrounding assembly geometry is required for review.
